The Lupus Foundation of America has been leading the Fight Against Lupus for Over 40 Years.
They have made pioneering contributions toward ending the brutal impact of lupus. Their efforts stimulated advances in lupus research that are providing insight into the underlying causes of lupus and its progression while creating unprecedented opportunities to expand the future knowledge base for lupus.
Lupus is a chronic (long-term) disease that can cause inflammation and pain in any part of your body. It’s an autoimmune disease, which means that your immune system — the body system that usually fights infections — attacks healthy tissue instead.
Since 1977, Candlelighters has supported more than 85,000 family members across Oregon and SW Washington.
We understand that when a child is diagnosed with cancer, it affects each family member differently. That’s why we develop programs that serve the whole family throughout the lifelong journey of childhood cancer, from diagnosis through treatment and beyond.
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Oregon & SW Washington provides access to medical care, a home away from home, and a community of support for seriously ill or injured children and their families. RMHC is dedicated to providing safe spaces, comforting meals, the amenities of home, moments of joy, and everything in between. All of this is rooted in our ability to provide completely free of charge housing, so families can receive lifesaving and life-changing medical care for their children.
Our one-to-one mentoring relationships support the critical social and emotional development needed to help build resilience and promote the mental health and well-being of thousands of children we serve across America. Now more than ever, Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies across the country are stepping up to find innovative ways in serving our communities to #KeepKidsConnected.
The Right Place When Nothing Feels Right
When someone dies, it can feel like you’re alone in your grief. At Dougy Center, you will find support, resources, and connection before and after a death.
Dougy Center’s programs are based on our peer support group model for bereavement, including our program for after a death, Esperanza, Pathways, and L.Y.G.H.T. All Dougy Center programs offer support to families at no cost. Groups meet every other week and are led by master’s-level Group Coordinators and supported by Volunteer Group Facilitators. Esperanza offers support in Spanish. Pathways focuses on living with an advanced serious illness. L.Y.G.H.T. (pronounced ‘light’) is a Dougy Center program for youth living in foster care.
Dougy Center provides groups both in-person at our houses, and virtually through the Zoom platform.
